My Solo Projects - My first solo album, Ayesha, was very experimental.
I was trying to leave the T-Snakes and the Jerusalem behind, and I wrote and performed with this in mind.
This was the first album that I both engineered and produced, and it suffers from my inexperience as a
musician and an engineer. However, there are still some good songs on it, and as a solo musician and
singer/songwriter, it’s all about the songs. This album was self-released.
My second solo album, Wallet, is a much more coherent album.
The songs are biographical. The humor really peeks out of the songs.
While recording this, I was getting into the Alt-Country thing. This album was released by
Uma Nota Records. Uma Nota’s owner has become a huge part of my solo work.
He masters all my recordings and even provided the art work for Wallet.
Ghost Town was my third album, and it was going to be all Americana. I intended it to be a "roots rock"
album. However , the songs themselves took over and moved the album in a different direction.
The album is more rock ‘n’ roll and less biographic. Musically there are way more guitar parts than
a simple roots album should have. It sure was fun playing all those parts – too much fun to keep it simple.
Gone is the name of my fourth album. I wrote and recorded this album during my friend Jeff Clark’s fight
against cancer. It was supposed to be about triumph over illness and evil. They were vanquished ; all gone.
Unfortunately, Jeff and his valiant wife Christine lost the battle. I also became ill. After I came out of the
hospital, I did not want to push or promote this album. It seemed pointless at the time.
My current album is called Tenderfoot. It’s a mixture of roots, rock and folk-rock. This album also features
the talent of three very good friends. I was joined by former band mate Cherie Barton who adds splendid
vocals, as does singer-songwriter David Posther. Also, Chad Houts plays some wonderful guitar parts on
this project.
This album proves I waited too long to add my friends to the mix.
This album is also the first time I’ve taken on a writing partner. My dear friend Bonnie Devine is
a world renown artist and film maker. We were, through a series of letters, able to fashion an album
of lyrics for me and an art project-installation for her. Thanks to my friends I have made my best album yet.
I am already working on my next album Get Down Abraham. The songs are mostly recorded and should
be out soon.
