I started playing drums in fifth grade. I was just a kid with a drum until I
heard the Beatles. I was transformed into a musician ready to rock and roll.
Music gave me a purpose in life. It made me leave the nest.
It expanded my mind. One day I heard The Clash. One guitar and five
chords later I wrote ten songs. I put together a band called the T-Snakes
and wrote many songs for them.
The T-Snakes were a seminal Midwest punk-new wave band based in
Kalamazoo Mi. Formed in 1980 and performing till 1984. Playing all original
music composed by Mike Mitch (Ted Snakes) they were one of the first punk
bands in the area .They are remembered for their hits "You’re So Chi Chi"
"Let’s touch tongues" and "Too Stupid For Words". They are memorable
for their live shows featuring their dynamic front woman Cherie Barton
(Tina Snakes). The following are the lineups of the t-Snakes:
Ted-guitar and vocals, Tina-vocals, Thunder(Jeff Clark)-drums
Tyrone(David Spencer)-lead guitar and vocals and Tiny (Mark Lynch) bass.
